Plain-English summary
International Motors, LLC is recalling certain commercial trucks from model years 2016 through 2026. The affected models include the 7600, Lonestar, 8600, LT, MV, RH, HX, and HV. Approximately 678 vehicles are involved in this recall.
The vehicles have an electrical noise condition in the power line carrier that may cause the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to incorrectly process commands or stop working. This defect affects the proper functioning of the vehicle's safety systems.
When the ECU malfunctions, critical safety systems may lose or have diminished functionality. The affected safety systems include the Automatic Traction Control, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control, Active Cruise Control, and Collision Mitigation System. Loss of these systems increases the risk of a crash.
International will reprogram the affected ECU free of charge. Owners were sent notification letters on January 19, 2026. Owners should contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825 to schedule the repair.
