Recalls by state
The number beside each state is how many recalls name that state explicitly in the agency’s distribution notice. It deliberately excludes the 72,797 nationwide recalls, which reach every state — adding the same figure to all 56 entries would tell you nothing about where a state actually differs. Each state page shows both.
A dash means no recall in our archive names that state on its own. That is usually because the agency wrote “nationwide” rather than listing states, not because the state was spared.

The FDA and USDA list these inside the same distribution tables as the 50 states, so recalls reach them the same way.
