Plain-English summary
International Motors, LLC is recalling certain 2025-2027 IC Bus CECB transit buses. The recall addresses a defect where the driver's window panel and entrance door vertical joints may have been attached without sufficient epoxy coverage. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength."
The defect poses a safety risk because the body panels may separate during a crash. This separation reduces the vehicle's structural integrity and increases the risk of injury to occupants.
Dealers will install rivets along the driver's side window seam and entrance door seam free of charge to correct the issue. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on September 14, 2026. Owners may contact International's customer service at 1-800-448-7825 for more information. International's number for this recall is 26512.
