Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect that increases the risk of injury during a crash.

Plain-English summary

International Motors, LLC is recalling certain 2025-2027 IC Bus EVSB and CESB school buses. The driver's window panel and entrance door vertical joints may have been attached without sufficient epoxy coverage, which fails to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 221 regarding school bus body joint strength.

Because of this defect, the body panels may separate during a crash, which reduces the vehicle's structural integrity and increases the risk of injury.

Affected vehicles include certain 2025, 2026, and 2027 IC Bus EVSB and CESB models. To remedy this, dealers will install rivets along the driver's side window seam and entrance door seam at no charge. Owners should expect notification letters starting September 14, 2026, and can contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825.
