What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: This recall addresses a vehicle defect affecting a critical safety system (rearview visibility). No injuries have been reported, and the crash risk remains potential rather than actual. Per the rubric, a risk-of-harm product with no reported injury scores 3 (High).
Plain-English summary
Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Mercedes-Benz Metris vehicles because the electrical connections for the infotainment system may not be properly secured. This defect can cause the rearview camera image not to display, violating Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111 on rear visibility.
The affected vehicles include model years 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Approximately 43,422 units are affected. A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Owners were notified by mail on November 11, 2025. Dealers will inspect and repair the infotainment system connection free of charge. Owners can contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267 for details. The DVUSA recall number is VS2GARPIN.
