Chrysler and Ram rearview cameras may fail to display an image
Chrysler is recalling certain Pacifica, Ram 1500, Ram 2500 and Jeep Wrangler vehicles because contamination or improper programming may stop the rearview camera image displaying.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The defect degrades a visibility aid rather than a driving, braking or restraint function, which places it at the risk-of-harm level rather than Severe.
Plain-English summary
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019 and 2023 Chrysler Pacifica, 2024 Ram 1500 and Ram 2500, and 2024-2025 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The campaign covers 16 vehicles.
Contamination in the central vision processing module or improper programming may cause the rearview camera image not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111. A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall applies to owners and operators of the affected model years. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on 11 June 2026.
Dealers will update the central vision processing module software or replace the module as necessary, free of charge. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403, quoting recall number 46D.
