Chevrolet Equinox EV adaptive cruise control may not brake as expected
General Motors is recalling certain 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV all-wheel drive vehicles because incorrect brake module software may stop adaptive cruise control engaging the brakes as expected.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 3 covers risk-of-harm where injury has not yet been reported: the fault is in a driver-assistance feature rather than the service brakes, which remain available to the driver, and no incidents are recorded.
