2026 Cadillac, GMC, and Chevrolet electric vehicles recalled due to battery fire risk
General Motors is recalling certain 2026 Cadillac Escalade, GMC Sierra EV, and Chevrolet Silverado EV models because an improperly secured battery component may increase the risk of a fire.

Plain-English summary
General Motors, LLC is recalling specific 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQ and IQL, GMC Sierra EV, and Chevrolet Silverado EV vehicles. The recall is due to a potential issue with the high voltage battery.
An internal module component within the high voltage battery may not be properly secured. This loose component could move and damage the battery, which increases the risk of a fire.
To remedy this issue, dealers will replace the high voltage battery free of charge. Owners should expect to receive notification letters starting around September 14, 2026. Owners can contact Cadillac, GMC, or Chevrolet customer service for further assistance.
