2022-2026 Lucid Air rearview camera display may fail in reverse
Lucid is recalling certain 2022-2026 Air vehicles with an AD02 package. The rearview camera image may not display when in reverse, reducing driver visibility and increasing crash risk.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: This recall involves non-compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111 (Rear Visibility), a safety-critical function. The consequence explicitly states increased crash risk, meeting the criteria for high-risk products where injury has not yet been reported. However, no injuries or deaths have been reported, preventing a higher classification.
Plain-English summary
Lucid USA, Inc. is recalling certain 2022-2026 Lucid Air vehicles equipped with an AD02 package and running software versions 2.8.0 through 2.8.16. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse.
The camera display failure violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, which requires rear visibility. A non-functioning rearview display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Approximately 10,816 vehicles are potentially affected. Owners should contact Lucid at 1-888-995-8243 or check their owner notification letters, which were mailed on March 4, 2026.
Lucid has released a free over-the-air (OTA) software update to resolve the issue. Owners should update their vehicle software as soon as possible.
