Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty vehicles recalled for brake system fire risk
GM is recalling 2019-2024 Silverado 4500, 5500, and 6500HD vehicles because the brake pressure sensor may leak fluid, causing an electrical short and fire risk. Dealers will replace the brake pressure switch wire harness for free.

The brake pressure sensor assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch, causing an electrical short circuit. This short can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of fire while the vehicle is driving or parked.
Owners should park affected vehicles outside and away from structures until the recall repair is completed. Dealers will replace the brake pressure switch wire harness at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 11, 2025. Owners can contact GM customer assistance at 1-866-467-9700 for more information. GM's internal recall number is N242482680.
Vehicles that were previously repaired under recall 23V266 will require the updated remedy to be completed as well.
