International MV and HV trucks recalled for brake system defect

International Motors is recalling certain MV, HV, and Workstar trucks because rear brake calipers may contact suspension components and prevent proper brake pad function, increasing stopping distance.

International Motors is recalling certain 2020–2025 MV trucks, 2024 HV trucks, and 2019 Workstar 7400 trucks. These vehicles have a brake system defect: the rear air disc brake caliper may contact a suspension spring or axle U-bolt, preventing the outer brake pad from functioning properly. When the outer brake pad loses function, the vehicle's stopping distance increases, raising the risk of a crash.

Approximately 153 vehicles are affected. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 12, 2025.

To remedy the issue, dealers will switch the left and right rear brake calipers, replace the rear brake torque plates, and replace the brake pads at no charge. Owners should contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825 to schedule service.
