2023 International MV and HV Vehicles Recalled for Driveshaft Separation Risk

Navistar is recalling certain 2023 International HV and 2023-2024 International MV vehicles due to incorrectly installed rear axle wedge shims that can cause driveshaft separation and loss of drive power. This increases the risk of a crash.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall addresses a structural defect (driveshaft separation) with serious potential consequences including loss of drive power and increased crash risk. However, no injuries or property damage have been reported, placing this in the High severity category per the rubric criteria for risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported.
