Because the SDM was not activated, the affected vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208 (Occupant Crash Protection). Five Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vehicles from the 2022 model year are affected by this recall. Notably, the vehicles had not yet been sold from dealer inventory when the defect was discovered, limiting consumer exposure.
