Plain-English summary
General Motors is recalling certain 2025 and 2026 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles, including multiple variants (standard, E-Ray, and ZR1X models in both Coupe and Convertible configurations). A software error in the lighting control module may prevent the system from detecting when a rear turn signal light has failed. This violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 108, which establishes requirements for lamps and reflective devices.
When a rear turn signal fails, the lighting control module may not recognize the failure and alert the driver. As a result, drivers may not be aware that their turn signal is not functioning. This significantly increases the risk of a traffic crash, as other drivers may not perceive the vehicle's intent to turn.
The remedy involves a free software update to the lighting control module. This update will be provided either by a Chevrolet dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update. Owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed on May 18, 2026. Owners seeking more information should contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's internal reference number for this recall is N252541250.
