2020-2021 GMC Acadia rearview camera may fail due to improper connector crimping

General Motors, LLC is recalling certain 2020 and 2021 GMC Acadia vehicles equipped with the optional Surround Vision feature. The rearview camera coaxial cable connectors may have been crimped improperly, causing the rearview camera to fail or function intermittently.

An inoperative rearview camera can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall also affects 2020 and 2021 Cadillac XT5 and XT6 models equipped with the optional Surround Vision feature. A total of 95,231 vehicles have been identified as potentially affected.

Owners should contact their dealer or General Motors directly. Dealers will replace the coaxial cables at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed January 18, 2023.
