Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX instrument and camera displays may fail

Honda is recalling certain 2024 Acura ZDX and Prologue vehicles because a software error may cause the instrument panel display to fail and the rearview camera to show a blank screen in reverse.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 3 covers risk-of-harm where injury has not yet been reported: the failures are confined to instrument and camera displays while the vehicle retains control, braking and propulsion.

Plain-English summary

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2024 Acura ZDX and Prologue vehicles. About 65,135 units are potentially affected.

Due to a software error, the instrument panel display may fail. A software error may also cause the rearview camera to display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 101, "Controls and Displays", 111, "Rear Visibility", and 305, "Electric-Powered Vehicles".

NHTSA states that an instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, increases the risk of a crash or injury, and that loss of the rearview camera image can reduce the driver's rear visibility.

Dealers will update the vehicle radio control module software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed on April 22, 2026. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138, or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
