Plain-English summary
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling 16,776 specific Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) recreation vehicle chassis. The affected models include the 2018 XBP, 2016-2019 XCM, 2017-2020 XCS, 2018-2019 XBR, 2017-2019 XBS, 2016-2019 XCL, 2017-2020 XCP, and 2016-2020 XCR. This recall applies only to vehicles that previously received the 'inspection-only' remedy from recall 18V-582.
The defect involves the rear-mounted Power Distribution Module (PDM), which may have been damaged during manufacturing. This damage can result in the rear marker lights, brake lights, or turn signals not functioning. Non-functioning exterior marker lights can increase the risk of a crash.
