Daimler Trucks North America LLC is recalling certain Freightliner Custom Chassis recreational vehicle chassis from model years 2016 through 2023. The rear-mounted Power Distribution Module (PDM) in these vehicles may have internal damage that causes it to malfunction.

When the PDM fails, the rear marker lights, brake lights, or turn signals may stop functioning. Non-functioning brake lights and turn signals reduce the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall affects 24,869 vehicles across multiple chassis models including XBP, XBR, XBS, XCL, XCM, XCP, XCR, and XCS. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 18, 2022. This recall is an expansion of previous NHTSA recalls 20V-404 and 18V-502.
