Freightliner chassis fuel filter hoses can separate causing leak and stall
Daimler Trucks is recalling certain 2022-2025 Freightliner Custom Chassis vehicles with Cummins L9 diesel engines because remote fuel filter hoses may separate from the fitting, causing a fuel leak and engine stall.

The remote fuel filter hoses may separate from the fitting, causing a fuel leak and an engine stall.
NHTSA states that a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire, and that an engine stall increases the risk of a crash.
Cummins will replace the fuel hoses free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 11, 2025. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 or Cummins customer service at 1-800-286-6467, or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
