Audi Vehicles 2019–2025 Rearview Camera Software Defect
Volkswagen Group of America (Audi) is recalling certain 2019–2026 Audi vehicles due to a software error that may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying. This defect reduces driver visibility behind the vehicle and increases crash risk.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: This is a structural vehicle defect involving a safety-critical rear visibility system that creates a risk of harm (increased crash risk). No illnesses or injuries have been reported, but the hazard involves a failure to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, which qualifies as High severity under the rubric.
