What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: Scored 3 under the risk-of-harm criterion: NHTSA states closing the sunroof without being able to see it can increase the risk of injury to occupants, and no injuries are reported.

Plain-English summary

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2026 Q3 vehicles.

The record states incorrect software may allow remote sunroof closing from a distance that prevents the operator from clearly seeing the sunroof, and that as such these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 118, "Power-Operated Window Systems".

NHTSA states the consequence is that closing the sunroof without the ability to see it can increase the risk of injury to occupants. The record gives the potential number of units affected as 6,077, and lists the affected component as visibility, sun/moon roof assembly.

Dealers will update the sunroof control module software and the owner's manual, free of charge. The record states owner notification letters were mailed April 22, 2026, that owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834, and that Audi's number for this recall is 57KS.
