2025 Audi vehicles recalled for rear seat belt retractor failure
Certain 2025 Audi models are recalled because the rear seat belt retractor may fail to properly secure child seats. Dealers will replace affected seat belt assemblies for free.

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2025 model year vehicles, including the S5, S6 Sportback E-Tron, SQ6 E-Tron, SQ6 Sportback E-Tron, Q6 E-Tron, Q6 Sportback E-Tron, A5, A6, and A6 Sportback E-Tron. The automatic locking retractor in the rear seat belt assembly may fail to engage when a child seat is installed using the seat belt, which does not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 208 (Occupant Crash Protection) and 209 (Seat Belt Assemblies).
An improperly secured child seat can increase the risk of injury during a crash. Approximately 27,768 vehicles are affected by this defect.
The remedy is provided at no cost. Dealers will inspect and replace the right and left rear seat belt assemblies as necessary. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 16, 2026. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834 for more information or to schedule service. The Audi recall number for this campaign is 69D8.
