Navistar, Inc. is recalling certain 2024 International HX, LT, RH and 2024-2025 International HV, MV trucks, and 2024 IC Bus CE commercial buses. Approximately 893 vehicles are affected. The steering gear assemblies in these vehicles may have been assembled incorrectly with fewer recirculating balls than required.
An incorrectly assembled steering gear assembly may result in loss of steering control. Loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect and replace the defective gears free of charge. Owners should contact Navistar's customer service at 1-800-448-7825 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 to report the issue or get more information. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 30, 2024.
