Terex Advance Mixer, Inc. is recalling certain 2023 Commander vehicles equipped with Composilite SC20 Lift Axles. The recall addresses a defect where bearing journals may not be fully seated in the steering knuckle assemblies, which prevents the proper installation of the wheel end hub assemblies.

An improperly installed wheel end hub assembly can leak oil, causing the axle spindles to loosen or fracture. This condition increases the risk of a crash.

Dealers will inspect and replace the steering knuckle assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 5, 2024. Owners may contact Terex customer service at 1-800-678-5961 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
