Instrument Cluster Display Failure on 2019-2022 Sprinter Vans Recalled

Daimler Vans USA, LLC is recalling certain 2019-2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and 2019-2021 Freightliner Sprinter vehicles with defective instrument cluster software. The instrument cluster may fail to display any information when the vehicle is started.

When the instrument cluster fails, the dashboard becomes blank. Drivers will not be able to see vehicle speed, fuel gauge, warning messages, or warning lights. This loss of critical driving information increases the risk of a crash.

Approximately 6,857 vehicles are affected by this recall. Owners were notified by mail beginning May 5, 2023. Dealers will update the instrument cluster software free of charge. Owners can contact Daimler Vans USA customer service at 1-877-762-8267 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).
