What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: This is a risk-of-harm product with a known defect (battery fire hazard) where no illnesses or injuries have been reported in the source text. The source does not cite any actual incidents, only the potential risk. This meets the Score 3 criterion: 'risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported.'

A battery fire increases the risk of injury to occupants, particularly when vehicles are charged overnight indoors. Owners are advised to take interim safety steps: set the Target Charge Level to limit charging to 90%, charge more frequently, avoid depleting the battery to 70 miles of range remaining, park outside after charging, and do not charge the vehicle indoors overnight. General Motors will replace defective battery modules free of charge.
