Plain-English summary
Navistar, Inc. is recalling 17,213 model-year 2014–2021 International DuraStar, WorkStar, MV and HV commercial trucks. The recall addresses a software defect in the Cummins engine control module affecting vehicles with feature codes 12VXT or 12VXU that enable the PTO neutral interlock.
When the parking brake is applied, the automatic transmission is in drive or reverse, and the stationary PTO switch is engaged, the engine control software allows the engine to rev to a level that can overcome the parking brake's ability to hold the vehicle in place.
Unexpected vehicle movement can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
