The recall addresses a defect where the Engine Warning Protection Shutdown (EWPS) was inadvertently re-enabled when the Engine Control Module (ECM) was recalibrated. If the EWPS is enabled and certain engine faults occur, the emergency vehicle may shut down. This potential shutdown could hamper rescue operations and increase the risk of injury.
