The recall involves 104 units where the front clearance lamps may be positioned improperly, an insufficient amount of conspicuity tape may have been applied on the sides and rear, and the trailers may lack side or rear reflex reflectors.

These defects cause the vehicles to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Due to the improper position of the lamps, insufficient reflective tape, and lack of reflectors, the vacuum excavator trailer may have reduced visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Vac-Tron will notify owners, and Vermeer dealers will install remedy kits provided by Vac-Tron, free of charge. This recall began July 14, 2020.
