The front clearance lamps on these trailers may be positioned improperly, and an insufficient amount of conspicuity tape may have been applied on the sides and rear. Additionally, the trailers may lack side or rear reflex reflectors. These defects cause the vehicles to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Due to these issues, the trailers may not be sufficiently visible during low visibility conditions, which increases the risk of a crash.

Vac-Tron will notify owners, and Vermeer dealers will install remedy kits provided by Vac-Tron free of charge. This recall began on July 14, 2020.
