The affected trailers may be missing rear and rear-side reflex reflectors. This defect causes the trailers to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Without the proper reflective equipment, the trailers may have reduced visibility, which increases the risk of a crash.
Vac-Tron issued an interim notification to owners on August 18, 2020, and the recall began on the same date. Vermeer dealers will install remedy kits provided by Vac-Tron free of charge.
