General Motors LLC is recalling certain 2012 Chevrolet Captiva Sport passenger vehicles manufactured between April 26, 2012, and May 17, 2012. The recall involves 2,070 vehicles that fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 135 regarding light vehicle brake systems.
The defect involves the park brake cable, which may not be fully seated in its connector and may separate. If this occurs, the park brake becomes inoperative and will not hold the vehicle. On an uneven surface, this could result in unintended vehicle movement and a crash.
