The recall addresses a defect where the left-rear or right-rear parking brake cable brackets may not have been properly fastened during the assembly process.

If the fastening bolts back out completely, the parking brake bracket may separate, causing the parking brake to fail to hold the vehicle in place. This condition increases the risk of a vehicle roll away and a crash. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the left-rear and right-rear parking brake bracket bolts, tightening them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on March 24, 2015.
