Each campaign is identified by an NHTSA Campaign Number (a string like 25V123000) and lists every make / model / year combination affected. The most common vehicle-recall categories are airbag and seatbelt failures (the consequence is non-deployment in a crash), fuel system defects with fire risk, steering or brake malfunctions, electrical defects in EVs that can cause battery thermal events, software bugs in driver-assist systems, and child-seat harness failures. Recalls for tires almost always relate to a tread-separation risk in a defined production date range.
Every NHTSA recall is mandatory for the manufacturer to remedy at no charge to the owner, with no expiration. If your vehicle has an open recall, your dealer is required to perform the remedy free of charge as long as the vehicle exists. Polaris is recalling about 15,900 Model Year 2022–2023 MATRYX PRO RMK and MATRYX RMK KHAOS snowmobiles because handlebar hooks pose a puncture hazard and risk of serious injury during crashes. The firm has received four reports of puncture wounds.
Kia is recalling certain 2022–2023 Sorento, Sorento Hybrid, and Sorento PHEV vehicles because the rearview camera mounting clips may break, preventing the camera image from displaying properly and reducing rear visibility.

Ford is recalling certain 2023 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty vehicles with single rear wheels because the left rear axle shaft may be improperly heat-treated and could break, potentially causing loss of drive power or vehicle rollaway.
