Genesis G90 and GV60 instrument panel display can fail

Hyundai is recalling certain 2023-2025 Genesis G90 and GV60 vehicles because a software error may cause the instrument panel display to fail, failing FMVSS 101.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 3 covers risk-of-harm where injury has not yet been reported: the display of information may fail while the vehicle retains control, propulsion and braking, and no incidents are recorded.

Plain-English summary

Hyundai Motor America is recalling certain Genesis 2023-2025 G90 and GV60 vehicles. About 4,754 units are potentially affected.

Due to a software error, the instrument panel display may fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Controls and Displays".

NHTSA states that an instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, increases the risk of a crash.

The instrument panel display software will be updated over the air or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 22, 2025. Owners may contact Genesis customer service at 1-844-340-9741, or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
