Genesis GV60 and GV80 Rearview Camera Display May Fail in Reverse

Hyundai is recalling 2024-2025 Genesis GV60 and 2025 GV80 vehicles because the rearview camera display may shut off when driving in reverse, reducing driver visibility.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: No deaths or injuries have been reported. The defect involves a safety-critical system (rear visibility) that could increase crash risk but has not caused documented harm. Per the rubric, risk-of-harm products without reported injury are classified as High.

Plain-English summary

Hyundai Motor America is recalling certain 2024 and 2025 Genesis GV60 vehicles and 2025 Genesis GV80 vehicles. The rearview camera display may shut off when the vehicle is driven in reverse.

These vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 111, which requires rear visibility. When the rearview camera display does not function, driver visibility is decreased, increasing the risk of a crash.
