Tiffin motorhome alternator programming error can stall the engine

Tiffin is recalling certain 2023-2026 motorhomes with 2.0 litre engines because the secondary alternator controller programming was not properly updated, which can stall the engine.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 4 covers structural vehicle defects: the source states the engine can stall, which is a total loss of propulsion, and the remedy includes installing a wire harness.

Plain-English summary

Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. is recalling certain 2024 Convoy, 2023-2026 GH1, 2025 GT1 and 2026 GH2 motorhomes equipped with a 2.0 litre engine. About 418 units are potentially affected.

The secondary alternator controller programming was not properly updated.

NHTSA states that improper programming can cause the engine to stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
