Porsche rearview camera image may not display when reversing
Porsche is recalling certain 2019-2025 Cayenne, 911, Taycan and Panamera vehicles because the rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 3 covers risk-of-harm where injury has not yet been reported: a rear visibility aid may not display while the vehicle retains control, braking and propulsion, and no incidents are recorded.
Plain-English summary
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2019-2025 Cayenne and Cayenne E-Hybrid, 2020-2025 911 and Taycan, 2024-2025 Panamera, and 2025 Panamera E-Hybrid vehicles. About 172,107 units are potentially affected.
The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility".
NHTSA states that a rearview image that does not display properly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
