What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: This is a structural vehicle defect affecting the rear visibility safety system. Although no injuries have been reported, the malfunction creates a significant collision risk by impairing driver visibility when reversing.
Plain-English summary
Porsche Cars North America is recalling multiple model years of Cayenne, Cayenne E-Hybrid, 911, Taycan, and Panamera vehicles (2019–2025, depending on model). The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse.
This malfunction violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 111, which requires rear visibility. When the rearview camera fails to display, it reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle and increases the risk of a crash.
Approximately 172,107 vehicles are affected. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 13, 2026.
Owners should contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243 to schedule service. Dealers will update the driver assistance software at no charge. Vehicle identification numbers (VINs) involved in the recall are searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning January 19, 2026. Porsche's internal recall number is ASB2.
