Nissan Sentra windshields may have visible air bubbles obscuring visibility

Nissan is recalling certain 2025 Sentra vehicles because the windshield glass may have visible air bubbles, which can obscure the driver's visibility. This fails FMVSS 205.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 3 covers risk-of-harm where injury has not yet been reported: the defect obscures part of the driver's view while the vehicle retains control, propulsion and braking, and no incidents are recorded.

Plain-English summary

Nissan North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2025 Sentra vehicles. About 41,797 units are potentially affected.

The windshield glass may have visible air bubbles, which can obscure the driver's visibility. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 205, "Glazing Materials".

NHTSA states that reduced visibility while driving can increase the risk of a crash.

Dealers will inspect and replace the windshield as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on January 21, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669, or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
