2022 Nissan Armada and Infiniti QX vehicles with incorrect GAWR label
Nissan is recalling certain 2020–2026 Nissan Armada and 2011–2027 Infiniti QX56/QX80 vehicles with 22" wheels because the Gross Axle Weight Rating on the certification label is incorrect, which can allow the vehicle to be overloaded and increase crash risk.
What this means for you
Minor labeling or packaging issue, or a voluntary precautionary recall. Risk of harm is low but real — follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Our severity reasoning: The source text states no injuries or deaths have been reported, and the hazard is a labeling error (incorrect GAWR) with a theoretical consequence (increased crash risk). This is a voluntary precautionary recall of a non-structural labeling defect without reported harm, fitting the Moderate criterion.
Plain-English summary
Nissan North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2020–2026 Nissan Armada, 2011–2013 Infiniti QX56, and 2014–2027 Infiniti QX80 vehicles equipped with 22-inch wheels. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the certification label is incorrect, which can allow the vehicle to be overloaded. These vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will install new labels at no charge, and Nissan will mail replacement labels to owners. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning September 4, 2026.
Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 for more information. Nissan's internal recall numbers for this campaign are R26B1 and R26B2. Vehicle Identification Numbers involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on July 16, 2026.
