Ford and Lincoln windshields may have visible air bubbles
Ford is recalling certain 2025-2026 Lincoln Corsair, Lincoln Aviator and Explorer vehicles because the windshield glass may have visible air bubbles that obscure the driver's visibility.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 3 covers risk-of-harm where injury has not yet been reported: the defect obscures part of the driver's view while the vehicle retains control, propulsion and braking, and no incidents are recorded.
Plain-English summary
Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2025-2026 Lincoln Corsair, Lincoln Aviator and Explorer vehicles. About 56,841 units are potentially affected.
The windshield glass may have visible air bubbles, which can obscure the driver's visibility. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 205, "Glazing Materials".
NHTSA states that reduced visibility while driving can increase the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect and replace the windshield as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 6, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
