Ford Motor Company is recalling specific 2020-2024 Lincoln Aviator, Lincoln Corsair, Ford Escape, and Ford Explorer vehicles. The recall is due to a software issue where the image on the center display may flip or invert when the vehicle is placed in reverse.
This defect results in an incorrectly displayed rearview image, which can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle and increase the risk of a crash. The affected vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111 regarding rear visibility.
Owners should contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. A remedy is currently under development, and owners were sent interim notification letters on April 6, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once a final remedy is available, which is anticipated in the second quarter of 2026.
