2024–2026 International LT and 2025 RH Trucks Service Brake Defect
International Motors is recalling certain 2024–2026 LT and 2025 RH trucks because the Hill Start Assist exhaust port may clog, preventing brake release and increasing crash risk.
What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: This is a structural vehicle defect involving a safety-critical system (service brakes) that directly increases crash risk. NHTSA does not report deaths or serious injuries in the source, but the hazard—brakes remaining engaged during driving—presents significant injury and property-damage risk, meeting the Severe (Class II equivalent) threshold.
Plain-English summary
International Motors, LLC is recalling certain 2024–2026 model-year LT trucks and 2025 model-year RH trucks. The Hill Start Assist (HSA) exhaust port may become clogged, which can delay or prevent the release of the service brakes.
When service brakes remain engaged while the vehicle is being driven, the risk of a crash is increased. Approximately 1,129 vehicles are affected.
