Plain-English summary
Motor Coach Industries (MCI) is recalling certain 2025 D4520, D45CRTLE, D45CRT, J3500, and 2025-2026 J4500 buses. The recall addresses a defect where the emergency exit label may be placed in the incorrect location. As a result, these vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."
Incorrectly located labels may prevent or delay the use of the emergency exit, which increases the risk of injury. MCI will install or mail labels as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 6, 2025. Owners may contact MCI customer service at 1-800-241-2947 for assistance.
