MCI Buses Recalled for Seat Belts That May Not Extend

The seat belts on these vehicles may not extend from the retracted position, which renders the seat belt unusable. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," and number 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies." The inability to use the seat belt may increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

MCI will notify affected owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the seat belts, as necessary, free of charge.
