Ford recalls over a million vehicles for rearview camera software error

The potential number of units affected is 1,076,138.
A software error may affect the rearview camera. According to NHTSA, a frozen or missing rearview camera image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The accessory protocol interface module software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air update, free of charge. The recall notice states this will be a phased campaign.
