Ford and Lincoln rearview cameras may show blank or distorted images

Ford is recalling certain 2021 Expedition, 2021-2022 Super Duty F-250 to F-600 and 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair vehicles because the rearview camera may display a blank or distorted image.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 3 covers risk-of-harm where injury has not yet been reported: a rear visibility aid may fail, but the vehicle retains control and propulsion and no incidents are recorded.

Plain-English summary

Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2021 Expedition, 2021-2022 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 and F-600, and 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair vehicles. About 91,580 units are potentially affected.

The rearview camera may display a blank or distorted image.

NHTSA states that rearview camera failure can reduce the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 18, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, referencing recall number 25S05, or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
