Daimler Vans USA, LLC is recalling certain 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles equipped with electrically adjustable front swivel-seats. The wiring harnesses connecting these swivel-seats may have been incorrectly installed at the factory.
Due to incorrect installation, these wiring harnesses may become damaged over time. If damaged, they can prevent the front side airbags from deploying as intended in a crash, increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.
Approximately 350 vehicles are affected by this recall. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 17, 2023. Owners can contact Daimler Vans USA customer service at 1-877-762-8267 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) for more information. The remedy is free of charge. Authorized dealers will inspect the wiring harnesses and reattach them as necessary to ensure proper airbag deployment.
