The defect involves the rearview camera system, which may fail to display the rearview image within two seconds of starting to back up. Additionally, if the Emergency Call (eCall) system is activated while the vehicle is in reverse, the eCall pop-up window may obscure or cover the rearview image. These issues cause the vehicles to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
