Spartan Motors Chassis, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Spartan MM motorhomes manufactured between January 28, 2010, and March 12, 2012. These vehicles are equipped with Cummins ISC engines and have a defect in the radiator cooling fans. The fans may spin excessively fast, causing the fan blades to break without warning.
If the fan blades break while the hood is open, a person in the vicinity of the engine could be struck by the blade and injured. The recall covers 125 affected vehicles.
Spartan will notify owners, and dealers will repair the vehicles free of charge. The recall began on November 15, 2013. Owners may contact Spartan Chassis at 1-517-543-6400.
